Getting outside

The other week we went on a family bike ride along the coastal trail in Anchorage.  Tiffany found a toddler bike seat on craigslist for CHEAP! (just a little proud of that purchase) and we borrowed a bike from Kevin's parents.  It was nice and cool; just perfect for a bike ride.
Anna did a great job biking four miles on a one gear bike.  We think it is time for an upgrade for her.
Audrey loves riding in her seat.  She usually grabs onto whoever is driving and clicks her tongue and says, "Giddy-up"
This is us with the other side of the inlet in the background.  If you look real close you can see Russia. (HeHeHe) Actually Wasilla is on the other side of the inlet and on a clear day Mt. McKinley.
That would be Anchorage in the background.
This week we ventured out around our new hometown, Eagle River.  We drove 10 miles up the road the the Eagle River Nature Center where there are hiking trails.  We went with an old friend of Kevin's.
This is basically what the views are like from just about anywhere in Eagle River.
It was a bit cold and windy, but breathtakingly beautiful.
Anna, of coarse, found a tree to climb.
This is the Eagle River or as Audrey pronounces it "Evil River"
Jared, Anna, and Audrey played with the other kids and entertained themselves with throwing rocks, logs, and anything else they could grab into the river and then racing it down stream.

We are enjoying the free time we have to explore a little of Alaska.  Next weekend: Fishing!

I love the pictures especially the one of Jared and Kevin. Jared looks so much like his dad (Only smarter - it's the glasses). "Evil River" I think that is hilarious! I am glad you are loving your new home.
